Artwork

To allow us to produce your order without delays and to ensure we meet your expectations with regard to decoration quality please adhere to our requested specifications and guidelines.

SCREEN PRINTING, DIGITAL TRANSFERS, LASER ENGRAVING, EMBROIDERY OR PAD PRINTING

We require vector graphic artwork to be supplied in PC-formatted EPS fi­les created in Adobe Illustrator or as PDF files.

  • If possible supply artwork to the imprint area allocated to that particular product
  • Ensure that all text/fonts have been created to outlines/curves to avoid font problems
  • Match coloured artwork to the pantone colours to be printed
  • Logos and text for laser engraving to be supplied as solid Black,this will be the engraved image
  • We do not use bitmaps,jpeg images,tiffs or giff files all artwork must be fully editable vector graphic
  • Gradients and percentages tones or viniettes cannot be engraved or successfully pad printed
  • Where logos have percentages of  colour - a solid pms colour must be assigned to each percentage

 TIPS

  • Consider how the artwork will appear on the required product ie. square logos can be very small when reduced to fi­t on pens
  • Avoid having very complex logos at small imprint sizes - the smaller the logo the higher the chance the detail will fi­ll in
  • Avoid having important artwork close to the trim/­finish edge of products

ARTWORK PROOFS

It is of the utmost importance to approve artwork and product proofs as soon as possible in order to meet delivery dates. If approvals are delayed, rush charges and/or expedited freight may be required at the customer’s expense to meet a specified delivery date.  If we need to re draw or significantly alter artwork files, a minimum artwork fee of $45.00 will apply. We are committed to producing the best quality outcomes for your brand.

 4 COLOUR PROCESS PRINTING

Digital artwork to be supplied in PC-formatted EPS fi­les created in Adobe Illustrator or a high resolution PDF with bleed.

  • Create your artwork to the specifi­c size of the product with one design per ­le/page of pdf
    Allow at least 3mm bleed all around and keep important elements 3mm inside cut area
  • Ensure that all text/fonts have been created to outlines/curves to avoid font problems
  • Colour up any logos etc. that require colour matching to the relevant pantone colour, using the “Solid Coated” set of swatches. Artwork coloured up to CMYK will not be pms matched
  • Digital printing cannot print metallic colours, contact your representative for advice
  • When saving pdf files ensure that pdf settings are of a high resolution and allow for 3mm bleed all around
  • Any placed images should be embedded in the eps ­les and to be high resolution (300dpi)
  • Do not have any white areas set to overprint - the 4 colour process will omit any elements set to overprint white. Be aware that any other elements set to overprint may not appear the same colour as viewed on the PDF proof when printed.
  • We can accept jpegs for digital print as long as they are high resolution (300dpi) and to the correct size of the product with relevant bleeds etc. No speci­fic colour matching will be available if a jpeg is provided
  • Some manufactured products have multiple forme cut areas which need to have a ‘bleed’ assigned to them (templates are available)

Artwork Archiving

We maintain electronic copies of all artwork files provided  to us for previous orders, copies of artwork proofs and artwork files generated for your orders for a minimum of one year. That way we hope to save you time on repeat orders. We will however, always ask for your sign off on that artwork for each subsequent order before proceeding to production in case there are changes to phone numbers or text . We are happy to supply you with electronic copies of your artwork at no cost should the need arise. Please note artwork used for a particular order can generally not be used to decorate a different product and it will be necessary to re draw artwork  to decorate a different item.

Block and Die Archiving

Blocks, dies, print film, and digitised embroidery files are kept on your behalf with our specialist printers and decorators for a minimum of one year, so they are available for use on re-runs on identical items. However, a  re-set up fee will apply in most cases. In many cases,  production dies are designed specifically for one job and may not be compatible for subsequent use. We will advise you if this is the case.
