Keep Your Brand Visible With Custom Mouse Pads
They have been around since the computer was invented, but sometimes they are overlooked for other promotional products, but custom mouse pads still offer great value and are one of the most visual items you can get. The mantra for any promotional product is it should be visible, useful and reusable. Mousepads fit all that criteria in spades and you don’t just have to go for a regular finish. There are ergonomic ones with a padded wrist section, ones that can be lifted to insert information and others that can also wirelessly charge a mobile phone, while still functioning as a mouse mat. We thought we’d highlight some of the more popular styles, to reacquaint you with an old favourite.
These are the simplest design of mouse mats. A PVC top that is adhered to a 3mm rubber sponge base. It is one of the cheapest mousepads to buy. They are very lightweight, so they can also be used in mail-out campaigns and the full-colour digital printing gives nice vibrant colours. They might be simple, but they will stay in front of your client every day they work at their computer or laptop and this is what we want from our promotional product – something that is reusable and highly visible.
You can add information about your business or perhaps a yearly calendar highlighting events throughout the year. This way you have an excuse to come back in a year to give them a new one and reintroduce your company.
These are perfect for a mail-out campaign. They have an adhesive backing and are only a quarter of one millimetre thick. They still have a textured PVC top that is printed in full colour and if you want you can also get the die-cut to shape. This takes an ordinary mouse pad to the next level. The adhesive backing allows for the mat to be peeled off and repositioned if needed.
This type of mouse pad is also extremely affordable due to the base. Other types have more expensive bases to them, but just having a light glue under the PVC top, it reduces the costs tremendously. Also, although they are extremely thin, they are still very durable, making them perfect as a promotional giveaway.
3. Fabric Top Mouse Pads
What’s different about these mouse mats is rather than a hard PVC top, it is a softer fabric top. It is kinder to the hand as it glides over and the print is done through a sublimation process, so it “sinks’ into the fabric. They have a 1mm natural rubber base, so it means you can roll or scrunch these up and they will return to their previous state. They have a more textural finish to them, which usually means your mouse will be more accurate when being passed over the surface. They are a more upscale mouse pad that has a higher perceived value, though they are more expensive than your basic styles.
4. Ergonomic Gel Pad Mouse Pads
Now we are moving into the more premium brands of mousepads. Gel mouse pads are wonderful to work with. The gel pad is specifically designed to support the wrist. This, in turn, reduces the chances of getting carpal tunnel syndrome, which has become very prevalent in this Technology age. The pad is covered with a lycra material that is soft and easy to glide across.
The print is done through a dye sublimation process. These would be more suited to your more important clients as they are more costly to purchase and have a very high perceived value. Someone using this on a daily basis would be highly appreciative of your company for receiving such a generous gift
5. Wireless Charging Mouse Pads
These are the new “it” mousepads, especially nowadays with our focus on our mobile phones. This style of mouse pad has a built-in wireless phone charger. All the person has to do is put their phone down on top of the mouse pad and it will start to charge their phone. All they need is a phone which is Qi-enabled.
The one pictured here comes with a faux leatherette finish, but there are many different types of materials available on the market. The best part of this pad is its dual functionality. Rather than needing a separate charger or forgetting to charge your phone completely, it’s all in one unit and ready to go at any time.
